Overview

Paperasse is a document browser and search service. This Privacy Policy explains what information Paperasse collects, how it is used, and the choices you have when you use Paperasse at paperasse.me.

Information We Collect

When you sign in with Google, Paperasse receives basic account information needed to authenticate you, such as your email address and profile image. Paperasse also stores authentication tokens in secure cookies so you can stay signed in.

When you use Paperasse, the service processes the documents you choose to store or view through Paperasse, document metadata such as filenames and dates, search queries, AI search queries, and technical information needed to operate the service, such as request timestamps, IP addresses, browser information, and error logs.

How We Use Information

Paperasse uses information to authenticate your account, display and preview your documents, import PDF files you provide, run search and AI search features, maintain session security, troubleshoot issues, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.

Google Account Data

Paperasse uses Google Sign-In for authentication. The current web application requests the Google scopes needed for sign-in: openid, email, and profile. Paperasse does not request access to your Google Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, or other Google content through the web sign-in flow.

Documents and AI Search

Documents and related metadata are used to provide document viewing, importing, local search, and AI search. AI search queries and relevant document content or metadata may be processed by Paperasse systems and service providers as needed to generate answers and references.

Cookies

Paperasse uses cookies for authentication, Google OAuth state validation, account display, and session refresh. Authentication cookies are configured as secure, HTTP-only cookies where applicable. Paperasse does not currently use advertising cookies.

Sharing

Paperasse does not sell your personal information. Information may be shared with service providers that help operate Paperasse, with Google for authentication, when required by law, to protect the rights and security of Paperasse or its users, or with your direction or consent.

Security and Retention

Paperasse uses technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect your information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Paperasse keeps information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain backups and logs.

Your Choices

You can sign out of Paperasse at any time. You can also manage third-party app access from your Google Account settings. To request access, correction, deletion, or another privacy action for your Paperasse account, contact us using the address below.

Children

Paperasse is not directed to children under 13, and Paperasse does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

Paperasse may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are made, the effective date will be updated on this page.
